Following the merger between Warner Bros. Superman has had a consistent presence in the DCEU following his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League appearances, but his appearances lack Cavill's portrayal, either by having the frame not show his head or blurring out his face. Snyder, unfortunately, appears to no longer be involved with the DCEU franchise, but Cavill’s return to the Superman role seems quite likely. Initially, the DCEU also had Zack Snyder involved in a key creative role in the films, working alongside directors Patty Jenkin and James Wan to ensure a consistent vision and continuity among its installments. Although the franchise hasn’t seen quite the same success, critically or financially, as its primary competitor franchise, the MCU, the DCEU has provided filmgoers and longtime DC Comics fans with some of the most authentic depictions of the brand's superheroes, such as Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman.
